Rock Climbing
Rock Climbing
Since school has started, I have been rock climbing at least three times a week. I do this because I am really passionate about it, and it is also a really good workout. In the past couple of months, I have decided that I want to start participating in rock climbing competitions. So in the past several weeks, I have been training for a bouldering competition. Bouldering is the type of climbing that doesn't use ropes, and where the walls and routes are typically shorter. I think that through working on my rock climbing, I am identifying my strengths in the sport and finding areas in the sport where I can grow. I think a strength that I have in rock climbing is bouldering. This type of climbing is my favorite, and I notice myself progressing really fast with it. Because of that, I feel like it is a real strength. By identifying my strengths, I have also identified some of my weaknesses in climbing. I feel like one of my weaknesses is stamina. Whenever I do top-rope climbing, which is the type of climbing that involves ropes, I end of not finishing the route about 50% of the time because I don't have a lot of stamina with rock climbing.
