                                             Writing Music 

Lately, I have been working on writing a song. I have been working on it for about two weeks or so, and I try to take time every day to work on either writing the lyrics or getting the instrumental part of it figured out (drums, guitar, bass, etc.). After I'm done with all of that, I'm going to record my finished song into Garageband.  I am trying to finish this song by the end of this month at the latest and release it onto Soundcloud. After that, I'm going to make a music video - type thing for the song and upload it to my YouTube channel. 

I think that by doing this, I am fulfilling two of the CAS learning outcomes. The first one is showing perseverance and commitment. I believe that I am showing commitment because I have been working on a part of my song every day or every couple of days. I also think that I am showing perseverance because writing and recording a song is really frustrating, and I could give up, but I'm not going to because I really have a passion for music and have been wanting to release my own song for a long time. The second CAS learning outcome I think that I'm fulfilling is undertaking new challenges. I have tried to write a song before, but I didn't really stick with it, so I think that the challenge I have undertaken is writing a song and actually finishing it.
