Skateboarding Camp

During my junior year of high school, I took a week long skateboarding class at Southside Skatepark. Southside Skatepark is the only indoor skatepark in Houston, and it is located in South Houston. This class was a week long, and it lasted for four hours every day. During this class, instructors would teach tricks either in groups or one on one, depending on how many people wanted to learn the trick. I was able to learn two new tricks through this course, which is pretty impressive given that it was only a week long. There were also several competitions during this class. These competitions were really just for fun, and I enjoyed participating in them.

The CAS outcome that I think I achieved through this is "Show commitment to, and perseverance in, CAS experiences."  This class was pretty demanding, but I kept doing it every day because I truly enjoy the sport. I think that by sticking to it, I learned a lot. I also got to have fun making friends, which is a nice added benefit. I would definitely do this class again because it was a really valuable experience and helped me progress a lot in skateboarding.
