Skim boarding 

A couple of months ago, I went skim boarding for the first time in Rockport, Texas. I had been wanting to try skim boarding for a while, so it was really fun to finally be able to do it. The beach in Rockport was not the best place to go skim boarding for the first time. This is because when you skim board, you do it on the very shallow water that is left by the waves when they crash and come up to the beach. There isn't much of this in Rockport because there aren't a lot of waves. It was also really windy when I went, so I had to go against the wind most of the time. Despite these challenges, I still had a lot of fun trying to skim board. 

The CAS outcome I fulfilled by trying skim boarding is "Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process." Learning to skim board had a lot of challenges. An example of a challenge was balancing on the board. Another challenge was throwing down the board and running on to it. By figuring out how to work through these challenges, I developed a new skill: skim boarding. I really had fun doing this and would definitely do it again at a different beach.
