Sound Design Course
Sound Design Course
The summer before my senior year, I took a sound design online through the University of Texas. During this course, I learned the basics of sound design and music production. I also learned how to write music for films by practicing with short clips. The program I used during this course was GarageBand because it is really user friendly and a good program to start out on. I had done a little bit of music production before this class, but not much, so I definitely considered myself a beginner. This course lasted a week, and it was probably one of the best courses I have ever taken. I feel like I learned so much, and my love for music production grew.
During this course, I feel like I fulfilled the CAS outcome "Identify own strengths
and develop areas for
growth." I feel like I was able to identify what areas of music production and music in general that I am good at through this course, and I also feel like I was able to figure out where I still needed to grow and learn more. I feel like I grew a lot through this course because I learned so many things that were new to me. I was also able to take the information I learned in this class and use it in other recording programs, more specifically Logic Pro X. Logic Pro X is a more complicated music recording software made by Apple. I would definitely take this course again because I learned a lot and developed a new hobby.
